Hey Schmoeville!
There have been rumors for a little bit now, that Captain America might be assembling a new team of Avengers at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, leading into the rumored Civil War storyline in Captain America 3. Which would make sense considering there’s also been whispers of a Captain Marvel cameo happening in the film, but nothing has been confirmed so far by any of the cast members or anyone at Marvel.
Well it looks like those rumors might just be true!
In a new interview with BuzzFeed, Kevin Feige has confirmed that we will in fact, be seeing a new roster of Avengers by the time the credits roll on Age of Ultron! Feige explained:
“The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins. It’s like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was. I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the [Avengers] roster is altered by the finale of this film.”
Is it surprising? No. Is it awesome that we may be seeing a new main team or possibly, two main teams on opposing sides? Hell. Yes. I’m guessing that the new team will consist of the new characters set to be introduced in Age of Ultron like Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, The Vision, and possibly Captain Marvel if the rumors are true. Who knows as well if Cap is the one assembling the new team or not. Nothing is confirmed as of yet other than that we will now be seeing a new team of Avengers by the end of this upcoming sequel. To which I say, count me in, I’m all on board for a new roster.
Looks like the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to be seriously shaken up in these coming films.
